Default Can' get to admin account

A couple of users messed around with this system. Now we can't get to the
admin account. Can't get the Windows Wecome screen, etc. System will log into
grandaughters account and work but not into her mother's account which is the
admin account. Can't install AV updates etc. because it doesn't see admin
account.

Any easy way to get it back to normal? XP Home Ed.

Thanks

Ron

Windows XP Home edition has a hidden administrator account. To access it you
must restart the computer and access Safe Mode. To do that restart the
computer and begin tapping the F8 key repeatedly. You should see a black
screen menu page. Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode and then press
the Enter Key. This should boot to a log on screen. Select the account
called Administrator. Once boot to the Desktop you can go to
Start-Settings-Control Panel-User Accounts. Select the account you want
to grant Administrator privileges to and do so. You should be able to reboot
as normal.
