Default System restore

HI yeah i am running on a valid windows xp package 2 and anytime i click
system restore. nothing happens except that the mouse turns busy 4 2 seconds
then goes back to normal. I do not want to reinstall system restore because i
have a restore point i wan to go back to . also system restore is enabled. Im
pretty knowledgeably about computers so i tried everything i know. I already
tried it in safe mode and nothing happens either and in the command prompt.
please i am desperate for help!! Anybody with any info please due post and
try 2 help

Default System restore

it is possible to just re-install the restore part of the program from your
existing system

Bert Kinney has the best resource I've found on System Restore

Personally I've found that if System Restore isn't working it can be
repaired but the repair generally causes a loss of the previously saved
restore points.
