! Command Prompt Shift Key Stuck Bug with Newest NTVDM Updates
I remember this from my DOS days - press CTRL-ALT-LSHIFT=20
to stop the shift key "sticking"... -----Original Message----- Hi, I've recently updated my Windows XP system with all=20 the Windows Updates and now I've got a huge problem. Whenever I open a=20 command prompt (dos box) and run EDIT.COM then press the arrow keys, instead of=20 the cursor moving around, a selection highlight is created. For example if=20 I open a file with EDIT.COM and press the RIGHT arrow key, instead of the=20 cursor moving to the second character in the line, the first character is=20 selected (highlighted). I thought that it might be that the SHIFT key is stuck=20 but it's NOT, if I press an alphanumeric character, the right character=20 comes up instead of the shifted character (capital/lower case), also, pressing=20 any other character brings up the correct one (1 NOT !), only the arrow keys=20 seem to be affected. Any ideas? It's REALLY annoying. -- Alec =BF=C9=01=05 . |
