Default PDFs ARGH!

Why do companies insist on using PDFs where you are required to fill them in! PDF is a read only document!

Today's woman puts on wigs, fake eyelashes, false fingernails, sixteen pounds of assorted make-up/shadows/blushes/creams, living bras, various pads that would make a linebacker envious, has implants and assorted other surgeries, then complains that she cannot find a "real" man.

This is not a PDF group. Try writing a letter to Adobe Claus.
Or Dr. Phil. Or Dr. Oz. 'Tis the season. Maybe you can get a
brain transplant for Xmas because people are sentimentally retarded
this time of the year. Or there's a Black Friday sale.

When you want a man to play with you, wear a full-length black nightgown with buttons all over it.
Sure it's uncomfortable, but it makes you look just like his remote control.

To you they may be 'read only', to users of Adobe Acrobat they are
editable. That they cannot be edited by the hoi polloi is a good thing.
You are prevented from editing the text that you are required to sign.
They are also far safer than other documents e.g. word, excel and the
other MS carriers of vermin.

No it isn't, not when they're frequently used by companies where you have to fill the things in! This usually means printing, filling it in by hand, then scanning it back! In the 21st century! Typical Adobe screwing everything up, they're as bad as Apple making up their own incompatible rubbish.

You are prevented from editing the text that you are required to sign.

Since you have to print it off to fill it in and post it, you can very easily edit the text in a photo editor.

They are also far safer than other documents e.g. word, excel and the
other MS carriers of vermin.

You *can* type stuff into the boxes, even using the free version of the
Adobe Acrobat Reader.

At the top right of the screen, click on Comment and then on Annotation
and then on the "T" (text icon)

Then click on the document in the place where your answer has to go, and
type away. When you've finished, you can save the document - complete
with your annotations - and email it back to the company.

You're whinging is out of willful ignorance. PDFs can be made as fill-
out forms. Feel free to continue to ignore reality.

Except 9 times out of 10 that says "not allowed" or similar.

Why would I want to eat food with less calorific value? That would be like putting water in your car.

Not if it has form fields. Perhaps you need a more flexible pdf
reader.

That's my point. The standard Adobe Reader, which is what Jo Public has, doesn't let you edit most of them.

Lots of people use Foxit and Sumatra, among others, I gave up on Adobe
ages ago.

Yes, but Jo public won't have those.
