sp2 HELP **** CLICK HERE **** =(

hi,
i installed window xp sp2 thru automatic updates and it
said it is completed. It force me to restart my
computer.however, after i restart..my computer is "STUCK"
on the window xp pro loading screen."the black screen
with winxp pro letters". As a result, my window wont load
=(.afterwards i hv to format my comp.i tired installin
sp2 once again and it WORKED *BUT* after restart my
window xp pro still stuck at the same screen.

can anyone please help me out.
my comp pentium 4 2.4ghz 512 ddr ram

Although I am not IT technically minded, I had the same
problem, installed SP2 off the WEB site allowed it to
configure and analyse the "C" drive, I then rebooted the
system, and yes I managed to sign on and then after a
brief pause my Screen saver came up but nothing else and
there it remain stuck!!!!!
After a few fustrating minutes I tried to use my ASR but
did not work this was down to me I suspect, so I did a
repair using the OS CD, this cleared the problem of
booting up, however, because I believe SP2 clears Sp1
this has left other problems I now have, so be aware what
you decide to do.

Unfortunately I have exactly the same problem that I have
yet to solve.
However I did post a very similar question to yours Aug
28 2004 6:12am.
You may wish to visit my post as a MVP has replied with a
suggestion on a repair.
