dvd rewriter

Default dvd rewriter

just conected new dvd +/- rewriter to my computer , it did'nt detect new
hardware and when i tried to add hardware it could not find it. also my dvd
rom went missing aswell

Default dvd rewriter

Did you set the jumper on the new DVD drive, if you have two devices one of
them must be set as a 'Master'
and the other as a 'Slave'.

Default dvd rewriter

The 'Jumper' are some pins that are at the back of the drive, next to the
connector.
With your hard drive you should have got a very small 'block' which fits on
two of the pins.
You have to refer to the drives instructions on how to set the jumper to
Master or Slave.

"operating" instructions aka manuals for the devices you plan to
using. Or be prepared to spend more money if things break.
