USB External Hardware Can't Install
Windows XP SP2 with 6 USB2 ports (2 ports already connected for other devices)
I have WD My Book and trying to install with my desktop computer. When I connect this HD device as instructed, Found New Hardware Wizard pops up (Hardware found: My Book) and I select "Install the software automatically" But it cannot install this hardware. I finds ?MyBook in Device Manager but no drivers installed. Disk management shows no drive letter. Looking for solution!

Besides of the USB cable, connect also the power cable. It helps

Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 2 comes without any CD.
It supposes to work with Windows XP's full driver. Somehow my old SONY pcv-rx860 desktop computer has been behaved differently now. Even a simple flash drive cannot pick up connection. It might be corrupted files somewhere. Anyway, I just simply connect both usb cable and ac power adaptor and the rest supposes to be automatic.
