Ethernet network disconnects itself everytime
Hi,
My ntebook (Win10 64) is connected with local ethernet network. Then it's connected on Internet. When I'm starting it, network is OK. But after several minutes, yellow triangle apears on local connexion logo, computer says No Internet Connection. Then I can't acceed to local network. I unplug, then plug RJ45 connector and it's ok for few minutes. It's the same if I'm restarting computer. after about 10 timss of unplug plus, wire connection is not recognis ans do nothig. I have to reboot computer. Does anyone knows what could be the problem ? Thanks, |

If so then the circuit, router, or bridge is having problems. If only this one machine is being affected then you might just have a defective Ethernet cable or the jack where you are plugging in the cable might be a problem. Try a different cable, if no change, try a different port on the router or bridge. You might also want to go into the advanced power settings and tell the PC it does not have permission to power down the Ethernet port. Another thing might be to go into the system devices list and delete the Ethernet device and then tell the pc to scan for new devices or reboot the PC and let it discover it. The last thing I can think of would be to replace the Ethernet driver on the PC. Either get the current drivers from the manufacturer or you might want to try the 3rd party program Driver Booster 3 which you can download a free version (or buy it if you want the Pro version) at this link. http://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster.php |

Thanks everybody.
Seems not to be an hardware problem. There is only a switch between computer and adsl connexion. I've tried to change switch port and cable. When I reboot computer, network link is back (for a variable time). So, when it's disconnected, I can unplug then plug again and connexion is ok. But, after several such manipulation, connexion don't come back anymore. Only reboot can solve. I'm trying to uptate drivers and will install driver booster. Wait and see. |

Remove the switch and connect directly to the modem, what happens? |

So, it was definitively not an hardware problem as a simple computer
reboot makes me able to be connected again. I've tried installing and desinstalling drivers... no luck. However, I've tried Driver booster that updated a lot of drivers mentionned as "very old". I was suprised as an utility called something like Asus update is supposed to do that. So, I've made all updates of Driver Booster and system is working correctly for few days now. THANKS ! |

Funny how the PC vendor's own update software says things are all up-to-date and things still act up... I think the Driver Booster looks at your hardware and compares the PC venders list against the actual hardware manufacturer list of updates and gives you which ever is newer. It has fixed a couple of machines that either would not update to W8.1 to say nothing about W10 and found drivers for orphan machines that manufacturers had given up on. Hope it continues to run good. |
