Default bugcode_usb_driver stop 0x000000fe

I am using xp pro sp3 with a canon pixma mp 780 printer. When I attempt to
print, I get a blue screen with the error message bugcode_usb_driver. It
says there is some problem with recently installed hardware or software and
proceeds to dump physical memory. I have uninstalled the usb ports in device
driver and reinstalled. I have reinstalled sp3.

This problem was intermittent. However, how it is happening all the time.

I also sometimes get a blue screen with the error
driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

Bad driver. Search for an updated version.
