Default "Back Browsing" option constantaly hijacked

Lately, probably after SP2 upgrade, I frequently have a problem when I try
to browse backwards in Internet Explorer. Two things seem to happen,
separately or together.

Either I see (in the activity bar at bottom of page) that I am being
directed to an "ad.doubleclick" site that I never even visited, or that I am
connecting to "127.0.0.1"

In both cases I don't browse backwards, but just stay at the current site.
I have to then QUICKLY click the back button two or three times in order to
return to a previous page.........and then sometimes I wind up jumping two
pages backwards.

Up to date on all my spyware removal, have firewall, and NAV, but this
problem keeps popping up.

Any ideas? Gene

I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

you need to scan your machine for viruses and worms, use an antivirus
and a spyware scanner first

I get this too and am not sure why. I think it is something to do with
advertising on the current site you are visiting. I also got this pre-SP2.
To get round it when going back in IE I use the little down arrow on the
back button to get the drop down list of pages visited and pick the one
which I want to go back to. This ignores the ad pages and takes you
straight back to what you were looking at before. You can see the ad pages
(eg. doubleclick) listed there.

Sounds like spyware regardless of what you say. Have you used HiJackThis to
see if something odd is happening?
