XP Home SP2 will not boot after upgrade
After installing SP2. the computer gets to the page with the scrolling bars
and immediately reboots. I have done a Windows Repair and reinstalled everything, but it still does the same thing. I was able to reboot in safe mode and set the boot.ini page to "basevideo" and the computer will boot properly except it is in 640 x 480 res. It has a geForce F5200 display adapter and can be adjusted to 1280 x 1024 once it boots up. Upon reboot it reverts to 640 x 480. What's next? Anybody? |

Also, I tried replacing the kernel32.dll file and it made it much worse. I
had to go back in and rename the original file to get it to work at all. I couldn't even boot in safe mode. If you can still boot, visit the vid card manu site and download/update vid
drivers, as per manu instructions. "Birdman" wrote in message ... After installing SP2. the computer gets to the page with the scrolling bars and immediately reboots.
