Is there any way to get rid of it? I've done all it wants, but still
it returns!
Peter

Thanks to all. I fixed it by going to the CONFIG.SYS "boot" tab and
then deleting the second entry in the box.

I wonder if you mean msconfig, and I wonder what "the second entry in the
box" is.

I should have said "the duplicate entry in the box (the second one)"

When I typed in "config.sys" this returned the "System Configuration"
screen.

It had a duplicate entry under the present one, so I deleted it and
this fixed it. I discoved this solution quite by accident, on the
way to get rid of a startup program.
