Can't install .NET Framework
Have tried numerous times to install .NET Framework, both versions 1.1 and
2.0 and always get one or more errors. Even tried turning off anti-virus and firewall - no help. Running WinXP Pro SP3. Any ideas? |

Any ideas? For no known reasons, MS decided not to make NET modules cumulative. This means (if you need this download aid) you must instal every single module in sequence. My / Software / Installed list shows three separate Service Packs (for NET 2.0, NET 3.0, NET 3.5) with 6 to 10 modules each. Your fastest method may be to uninstal all, then start at the bottom and download all in sequence (if you need this download aid.) -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

Any ideas? And which errors do you get, please? rant Why do people say "I get errors" and not say what the errors are? I have never understood this very common tendency. Surely it should be obvious that more information is better than less. "I get errors" usually doesn't contain enough information for anyone to diagnose the problem; the specific error messages (particularly the first) usually will. /rant -- Stan Brown, Oak Road Systems, Tompkins County, New York, USA http://OakRoadSystems.com Shikata ga nai... |

There were a succession of errors - enough that I just decided to abandon the attempt. I cannot say if I got the same errors every time - just thought I'd ask and see if there was an obvious solution. Thanks for replying. |

Typically MS. Just curious - I need version 1.1. Is there a version 1? Thanks for the reply. |
