Default Win 7 Restore Points

What is the easiest way to simply VIEW what System Restore Points have
been made? All I can find is a link to restore my computer, or to make
a new restore point ... and I don't want to risk having a system restore
BEGIN when all I want to do ... is see if I have any.

Is it true that a new one is made every 24 hrs, meaning there would only
be one, if I have not made any? FWIW, I don't use the Windows backup
system. I've been making backups to an external hard drive with Memeo.
XP was so much easier for me to navigate and understand.

%systemroot%\system32\rstrui.exe

Select to do a restore. You will be shown what restore points are
available. You have to actually select one and click Next to do the
restore, so just cancel on the screen that lists the restore points. Be
sure to click the checkbox to show more restore points, if available.

CCleaner has a viewer in it. Tools-System Restore. Don't worry, you initially presented a list.

Does it bother anyone besides me, that is the only way to see them? sigh

Thanks for your response, and the tip on clicking to see more restore
points.

It's not the only way. It's the easiest.

You can also open a command window as administrator and type:

VSSADMIN LIST SHADOWS

Well I have restore points turned off and rely on an image made with
Macrium reflect to get me out of trouble.

Thanks! I'll have to save these messages, because my short term
memory is so poor.

You have, of course, asked absolutely everyone before giving that answer
on behalf of everyone (-:?

I agree with chicagofan, it's a little unsettling to have to start the
restore process just to see the points available.

They're not mutually exclusive.
I set a restore point before I do anything I haven't tried before.
Macrium image backups much less frequently.
