What key do I push to start in safe mode. F8 would be a start. It depends on your setup, as shown in the articles. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-options.html http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...safe-mode.html In cases where the BIOS also intercepts F8, there is a slight timing issue. Just as, when a Windows installer CD says "Press any key to boot..." or similar, you are allowed to only press once. If you hit the key twice by accident, you end up in some submenu of the installer media. Precision is everything, at startup time. Paul |

frank formulated the question :
What key do I push to start in safe mode. It's normally F8, but if you want to eliminate the sometime "hit miss" experience, I use this little small utility that works every. BootSafe https://www.fooli****.com/vb6-projects/bootsafe/ -- Zo "Snow blower for sale...only used on snowy days." |

For example, Award, Phoenix, AMI, Insyde, SeaBIOS, other, don't know? -- Wildman GNU/Linux user #557453 The cow died so I don't need your bull! |

I have had many boards with AMI including the one I am using now (ASRock) and none used F8. Perhaps an Asus thing. I can't recall for sure but I don't think any of the boards I have had were Asus. -- Wildman GNU/Linux user #557453 The cow died so I don't need your bull! |

Few months ago we had a drug junky called "Paul" so you were just unlucky to have his post. I don't get any of his posts because he is number 01 on my filter list including the octogenarians who are using smoke and mirror to get news about world affairs and technology. that drug junky had the tendency to make up things as he goes along and all he did was to copy and paste from the web and claiming to be his solutions. You will do yourself justice to filter him out assuming he is the same junky I knew him few months ago. Good luck. |
