Default Flash drive icon just changed into an ordinary drive icon

My Belkin USB flash drive icon which was a very recognisable one of a
usb thumb drive, just changed into an ordinary drive icon. I suspect I
have lost the autorun.inf file. I can create another one but can anyone
tell me where I would find a thumb drive icon to suit? Many thanks.

If you don't have an autorun.inf file, XP will do the best it can
using default icons.

If you delete it or format your device, the file will probably be
deleted.

I changed my removable device icon to a giant thumb by creating an
autorun.inf on the removable drive and putting
my icon file out there with it:

[autorun]
icon=bigthumb.ico

Thanks - that's what I've done and I found a decent picture of a thumb
drive to replace it, using the autorun.inf.

Hope you didn't stop anything urgent to deal with this.... ;-))

Not me.

Two sentences and an example that works is not a big deal to fix an
irritating issue.

Some tips:

Search for icons:
http://images.google.ca/images?as_st...=Search+images

Convert the image file to an icon:
http://media-convert.com/convert/index.php
and/or:
http://www.zamzar.com/

AutoRun (& Autorun.inf)

Oh yeah... if you are still around and the icon came "installed" on
the device and you have become emotionally attached to it, check the
Belkin site Support section for icons or .inf files - they may have
just what you need, now that you know how it works.
