After you installed XP on the Dell notebook, did you remember to install the
Dell utilities drivers.... which would include the driver for the LPT port? -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Client - Printing/Imaging and Hardware www.coribright.com "jsigterm" wrote in message ... Hi, I'm having the same problem, and I've attempted all the previous remedies listed here. Still nothing. I've got an HP DeskJet 952C, and it works fine with my XP-equipped with my work laptop, but not my personal Dell Dimension 8100, previously with ME. Using a parallel cable. It doesn't look like "Rick" had any luck either. Any other things I should try? Thanks, Jim |

The issue is with the desktop after installing XP. I didn't realize that
drivers needed to be reinstalled. There's only one drivers CD that came with the Dell, and it doesn't appear to have anything on it about the LPT1 port. Would this be something I would find at dell.com? Where else would I find these drivers? Thanks, Jim "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: After you installed XP on the Dell notebook, did you remember to install the Dell utilities drivers.... which would include the driver for the LPT port? -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Client - Printing/Imaging and Hardware www.coribright.com "jsigterm" wrote in message ...
