Default Full Screen

Hi all

I can run my application in Full Screen mode (No Win Xp window visible) on
two of three computers that have Xp sp2.
When I try to run the same app in a third computer with XP sp2, xp draws a
full screen window but leaves the desktop wall paper visible. The app is
running in the background but the mouse cursor and the app are not visible.
Exiting my app with an Esc key allows xp to redraw the screen without the
window , and all is back to normal.

If I compile my app in windowed mode, then it all works correctly on all
three computers, bit in full screen mode one computer wont play ball.
I am using a resolution of 1024 x 768, and the screen is set to this
resolution as well. Setting the screen larger doesnt make any difference.

I have tried to compare settings, but just dont know where to look and what
to change to get the same result.

Regards

Default Full Screen

Hi all

JS, it is in fact an industrial computer board, Advantech PCA6775, BUT if I
compile for Protected mode Dos, then the application works perfectly. So I
dont think it is the on-board graphics adapters capabilities.
I use FreeBasic with Allegro.

I have tried setting the bios, so that it defaults to crt, instead of the
on-board lcd interface, but to no avail.

Regards

Does the BIOS have a Video Aperture setting.
Try increasing the value if you are able to do so.

Default Full Screen

HI all

JS, I found the problem.
Once before I have had a problem with the bios on this cpu board.
Whilst playing around with settings, I changed the default to LCD instead of
crt, crt + lcd or Auto.
On bootup I couldnt get an output on the VGA port at all. Setting Clear cmos
jumpers and removing the battery didnt solve it. So, I connected an LCD,
which also showed nothing.
Swapped cpu boards, and it immediatly fired up in the correct screen mode,
and in Full screen.
So, faulty board is going back to Advantech.

Thanks for your time and help.

Regards
