Default InstaGibabit Network adapter?

I have a cable ISP. If i purchase and install one of the
pci cards (instagigabit), will i get more than 10Mbps?
thru my internet gateway?

When i look at my network connections, it seems as
though my speed is being strangled through my internet
gateway. I have a router (linksys), wide open with no
firewall.
what i do want is all i can get through my internet
gateway. I hope that someone can understand what i am
saying.

thanks,

Your network will only be as fast as the slowest piece of hardware which I
suspect would be the cable modem. See what kind of speed you get with on of
the many test sites like http://www.dslreports.com/stest

There is not a cable connection in existence that will pump more than the 10
Mbps. Save your money!
