I want f.hc to always open in the F: drive when I click on f.hc and to
always go to the G: drive when I click on g.hc and always go to the H:
drive when I click on h.hc, etcetera.

When I click on a truecrypt "container" file it opens up the gui.
The drive letter is not selected until I pick it out of the list.
It is efficient but I want to eliminate that one drive selection step.
That is because I always open drives in the same letter all the time.

All I want is to always open to the same drive letter.

But how?

Create shortcuts.

That's easy to say if you have never done it.
Try it some day.
I was getting "Error while parsing command line"
It's working now tho.
I was using /background instead of /quit.
And I didn't know if Windows still requires quotes surrounding everything.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Veracrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /volume "C:\Users\UID\Desktop\f.hc" /letter f /auto /quit /explore /beep
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Veracrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /volume "C:\Users\UID\Desktop\g.hc" /letter g /auto /quit /explore /beep
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Veracrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /volume "C:\Users\UID\Desktop\h.hc" /letter h /auto /quit /explore /beep

Usually it requires quotes around anything with spaces in the name or
sometimes names with special characters.

"Program Files (x86)", yes.

"C:\Users\UID\Desktop\f.hc" not so much.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Veracrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /volume "C:\Users\UID\Desktop\f.hc" /letter f /auto /quit /explore /beep
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Veracrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /volume "C:\Users\UID\Desktop\g.hc" /letter g /auto /quit /explore /beep
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Veracrypt\VeraCrypt.exe" /volume "C:\Users\UID\Desktop\h.hc" /letter h /auto /quit /explore /beep

Interesting. Thank you.
Mand.

Interesting. Thank you.

The quotes didn't solve the errors.

I was using old truecrypt command line descriptions where /background was
replaced by /quit in the newer veracrypt which is what thru me off.

To be fair there are redundancy in those final options which could be honed
but they work so I'm leaving them alone for now. Others can fix it better.

That is because I always open drives in the same letter all the time.

All I want is to always open to the same drive letter.

But how?

Is this supposed to make some kind of sense to someone?

Yes.

Post makes sense.

It would have been clearer to say "open as the F: drive" rather than
"open in the F: drive".
