Default Installed printers are not listed in Printing & Faxes Window

There are 2 printers installed on a PC. When choosing a document and
printing, the printers are listed there. But in Settings - Printers & Faxes
- no printers listed. What's really going on?

Is the spooler service running?

I checked the Print Spooler in Services and it was running.

Open a cmd window and execute

sfc /scannow

this will attempt to verify and replace system files.

I don't recall which file.
