I have a WinXP notebook and a WinXP desktop computer.
When I click on each of them in WinExplorer on the context menu entry "Sharing and Security..." and go to tab "Sharing" then they show a completly different view. See the following snapshot: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/8748/sharingtabs.png Why? How can I get the second (=right) tab from the snapshot on the first computer? Peter |

Peter Peter, you don't say which versions of XP you're running, but the sharing window on Computer 1 is what you'll see when using XP's Simple Sharing mode. Simple Sharing is the only mode available under XP Home and is the default sharing mode under XP Pro. Simple Sharing can be turned off in XP Pro. If it's off, the sharing window for Computer 2 is what you'll see. For more info, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 Gary Richtmeyer |
