Default "Fix it for me" solves "can't add printer + spooler error"...somet

I have been using the Fixit offered in connection with Article kb 324757
every 4 or 5 boots to keep my Canon MP450 printer operational. Fixit does
the job but has little durability. Today it got out of hand and turned off
the ink! The printer would run following Fixit and even feed the paper
properly, but no words on the paper when trying to print from Word 7. I ran
various options on the printer maintenance screen including cleaning, nozzle
check, and ink cartridge settings with no luck. Then I ran "print head
adjustment" and got a perfect print-out. I ran several print jobs thereafter
with no problem. Is there any way to get a permanent fix?
[Strangely, to post this Question I had to provide my e-mail address which
concludes with " @msn.com". How come MICROSOFT refused to accept "msn.com"
but welcomed a rarely used "?] Thanks ...
