Hi All,

Does Windows XP installs .Net Framwork by default ? If yes, What is
the version of .net framework ?
Please let me know the details.

No it does not.

You either end up with .Net being installed by a software application
that requires .Net so the application installs the version of
..Net it requires.

Or you installed .Net by choosing one or more versions
from the list of "Optional Updates" when using Windows Update.

No, you must download and install it before use.


To install .NET Framework on XP you must:
- Have at least SP2
- Have Windows Installer 3.1+ (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893803) installed **May
require reboot**
- At least 500 MB space can be used, so make sure you have enough space to install.


- .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netf.../aa569263.aspx)
- .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 ReadMe
(http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...SP1Readme.htm),
in case you have any problems.

No, you must have *at least* XP SP2 in order to install .NET Framework. It doesn't install itself on
XP.
