You have no idea what he's talking about, do you?
(if you do, give us a technical description IN YOUR OWN WORDS
of how it works - not the spam, we've had enough of that)

You never joke. It's always phishing for someone to help you
STALK. Show a single thread you started that didn't fit my
description.

OT up. Thread is not OS related.

So it is not international, it is not unique, the words change according
to language. The classic coordinate system is unique and does not change
according to the user language.

If I'm visiting the USA and I call emergencies to give a location and
they don't understand my accent, they will not find me. I could give my
location in my language, but that would make things worse.

Perfect, yes, perfect.

That is kind of the point. It's self-checking in a way - if you phone
999 in the UK and you end up with a location in Australia, then you know
it's wrong and can re-check.

But if the location is say 5 miles out (I haven't tried to find a
credible pair of w3w co-ordinates that are that close) then you probably
don't get rescued.

Now I'm confused! ;-)

In Thunderbird, *your post doesn't scroll*.

When I typed your three words into the website on my iMac
https://what3words.com/daring.lion.race

........ this is what I saw:-

It works very well, each and every time I have experimented.

The system wouldn't let 2 locations with similar names be just 5 miles
apart.

People have said it wouldn't allow homophones, or singular/plural words,
but it does, why are you so convinced it can't have two places nearby
with easily confused words?

Yes, but you can use any one of them to look up
your address and ZIP code. ZIP codes and other
national location codes have two fatal flaws:

1) They're easy to use.
2) They're free.

What3words solves both of those problems. This is
a wonderful demonstration of the brilliance that allowed
Britain to rule 1/4 of the world. Bill Gates must be
kicking himself that someome else is more brilliant at
taking other peoples' bucks than he is.

I spoke too soon. This thing is far more brilliant than
I at first realized. It solves numerous age-old problems.

The problem of how to force people to enable script in
their browser when they look up an address? SOLVED.

The problem of figuring out how to track people and
show them Google ads every time they look up an address?
SOLVED.

How to allow at least 3 companies to spy on you when
you visit a webpage? SOLVED.

How to wrap Google mapping services in a pointless
wrapper? SOLVED.

This is the most amazing thing since Rube Goldberg's
portable cigar lighter:

Interesting. I guess one just can't overestimate the
brilliance of these guys. I wonder if that's what I found
in their script code. Their webpage pulls in Google
maps script and various other things. Among the muck
is their own script:

https://mapassets.what3words.com/map...in.df13c482.js

One of the tings I noticed in that was a very long list
of unicode character codes. Many are in a very high range,
like \uDDC2, apparently all for emojis.

amusing, but the emojis aren't randomly scattered and some don't
display properly.
