Interesting icon behavior
Currently running 2004 fully upgraded. I noticed today that most of the
icons on my desktop have the usual little up-arrow in the lower left corner, but some of them have a check mark instead. Is this supposed to signify something?

Maybe you are using an online sync client, like OneDrive or Google Drive (aka Google Backup & Restore), to record what is in selected folders, including the desktop folder. They can add an icon overlay regarding status of synchronizing the files. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...c-ae28cc44ecd2 Rather than describe an image and have us guess what it is, take a screenshot, paste into Paint, save into a file, and upload the file to online storage (e.g., imgur). Then give the URL to the uploaded pic.
