Default Force removable USB device to be non-removable

I've installed a Mitsumi combo floppy/media drive in my PC. (Product link - http://www.mitsumi.com/products/FA404.htm) Although the media will be removable the physical reader hardware will not. At present the CF/MD reader shows up as one removable devi
ce and the SM/MS/SD/etc. reader shows up as a second. This means that even when there is no hardware that can be "removed" from my system I am still shown the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray. I would like to find out how I can trick the
OS into thinking that these hardware devices are only as removable as a CDROM or floppy drive. The media can be mounted/unmounted but the physical device is permanent. As usual, I suspect a registry key is the.. um, key. Any ideas?

And if you're wondering, the drive works great.

THX
