Multiple BSODs

Have you accepted any third party drivers offered by Windows Update? Select Start, Help and Support, Keep your Windows up- to-date with Windows Update, Review your Update History to check. Are there any other Error and Warnings in the Event Viewer logs shortly before the two errors you posted? What game or what were you playing when the BSOD errors occurred? -- Hope this helps. Gerry ~~~~ FCA Stourport, England Enquire, plan and execute ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ o.smallenbroek wrote: THe BSODs occured after the boot process, and I dont have any yellow question marks on the device manager. I usually just have my keyboard (merc Zboard) and mouse, in the USB ports, and sometimes also my Logitech 5000 Webcam. The games i have played recently are Tom clancy's Las Vagas 2 and Demigod. Also to answer the *oztrailrider*, and *Daave*, - I ran WMD it didnt come up with anything. - other partition has been scanned also, its where i found the Trojan actually. I have run disk checks on both partitions multiple times now and it hasn't changed anything - I have also defragmented them - After i made a clean install of windows the BSODs only occurred after i installed all the drivers/software. The warning is indicating that something has been trying to connect to the internet and failing. It could be Messenger, which can cause lots of problems. I do not install the programme on any of my computer because for years it has had the capabilty to generate problems. You can remove Messenger. Select Start, Control Panel, Add / Remove Programs, Windows Components. Scroll down the list of components to Windows Messenger and uncheck the box before. Click on Next and follow the On Screen instruction. Restart your computer and on the reboot see what effect it has on the occurence of BSOD errors. If they go you can then troubleshoot Messenger for a solution. -- Hope this helps. I dont really want to uninstall messenger, although i do agree that it creates a lot of problems. I uninstalled messenger and then upgraded it. The Event ID: 7023 errors can be ignored. You may find the degree of diffulty for my next suggestion too much You can use a Kernel Debugger to examine the 0x0000000A: IRQL Dump Report. If you succeed in running the debugger post a copy of the Report and obtain a stack trace. Install Debugging Tools for Windows 32-bit Version http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtoo...nstallx86.Mspx There follows the standard information I have on the two errors. Background information on Stop Error message http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793589.aspx 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or software. Use the General Troubleshooting of STOP Messages checklist above. Technically, this error condition means that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high. (A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own.) Source: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm You receive a "Stop 0x0000000A" error message in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314063/ Background information on Stop Error message http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793437.aspx 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (Click to consult the online MSDN article.) Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card). Source: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm -- Hope this helps. Multiple BSODs
hey Gerry I'll give the debugging a try. I was just wondering if i could rule out my video card by taking it out. Can i run XP w/o a video card cause i don't think my motherboard has a built in videoprocessor. Also can i take out one of my RAM sticks and see if that fixes the problem, cause i only have two slots so idk if i would have to go into the BIOS and configure somthing. Thanks for all the help so far. What is your motherboard make and model? How many RAM sticks does your computer have? This freeware programme is excellent for getting information about your computer:Everest Home Edition (freeware) http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html Tip: To copy select Report, Quick Report, Plain Text, highlight required text, right click and select copy. However, whilst this is fine for posting small amounts of information into newsgroup messages longer reports will irritate other newsgroup subscribers. -- Hope this helps. Hey Gerry, I switched the two Ram modules around and I made sure all those wires are really connected, I think my harddrive may actually have not been connect properly but since i've done this my computer has been running like old times thanks for your all the time and effort you put into my problems, I am really grateful. I hope it doesn't crash anymore. There was one day where it only crashed once so this maybe just a day that it doesnt crash but if it doesnt crash tomorrow im pretty sure that its fixed. I'll test the ram anyway though. -- o.smallenbroek ------------------------------------------------------------------------ o.smallenbroek's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/106844.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-x...rt/1200972.htm http://forums.techarena.in |
