Can ping out from XP box but cannot ping it from other devices on
Hi all,
From an XP box on my LAN, I am able to ping other device on my LAN. When I attempt to ping the XP box from other devices on my LAN, it just times out. At first, I thought it was the Windows firewall but it is disabled. Anything else that I might be missing in this Windows configuration? Thanks! |

Check for other firewalls on your computer including "hidden" ones like the Cisco VPN client whose firewall is enabled even when the VPN client isn't. HTH, John |

Can ping out from XP box but cannot ping it from other devices
I upgraded IE to version 8. I am unable to down-grade to IE7, is there
something in IE8 that could be causing this? "John Wunderlich" wrote: =?Utf-8?B?R3VpbGU0NzQ=?= wrote in : Hi all, From an XP box on my LAN, I am able to ping other device on my LAN. Then go to: Options - Stateful Firewall (Always On) and uncheck the box in front of it. You can then quit the client. No need to stop services. HTH, John |
