Don't know. Put YOUR technical opinion here and we'll discuss it.

I'm assuming you are not posting OT, in which case you will probably
be ignored.

That is the rc.common script, which should be found he
/etc/rc.common

This is a script that is no longer used on modern macOS, but it's still
present. It can be a means for providing persistence to malware (malware
can add malicious lines of code to this script). However, I've tested
this on systems from 10.7 and up, and that no longer works. I have been
unable to get custom code added to rc.common to actually run on those
systems.

That seems an adequate answer! :bananas:

Gee, trollboy, weren’t you bloviating about how it might have been an
eeeeevil malware script which might/might not have been dropped onto your
system by that well-known (to you, anyway) malware distribution tool
EtreCheck? Why, yes you were, in between more bloviating about ClamXAV and
how _that_ is an even greater eeeeevil malware distribution tool. You’re a
lying scumbag troll, and dimmer than a yard up a pig’s ass. Less hygienic,
too.

Good morning, 'sock' - how sad it is that you feel a need to hide your
identity.

Makes STALKING hard, heh ? It IS the norm on Usenet, though,
for that very reason.
(and weird, coming from someone with 20 nyms.)

If you stop being so rude, we'll get on far better, sock.

Here’s how to manage your privacy.

You’ll learn how to keep your devices, data and Apple ID secure, along

privacy is not the issue and has absolutely nothing to do with your
ignorant and baseless claim that apple's advice is to not install
non-store apps.

you are wrong. again.

Applies to any OS, and completely OT to your statement. Where
does it say "Apple's advice is to install *NO* software unless it's

It doesn't. Made you look though! :-P

While you are at it, explain *WHY* you keep adding
alt.comp.os.windows-10 to an APPLE discussion ?

It's *MY* discussion and *I* use Windows 10.

I didn't, the link was a commercial link about privacy, not
apps or policy.

You SHOULD have looked. You would have learned some interesting things
about Apple. It's still not too late:-

https://www.apple.com/uk/privacy/manage-your-privacy/

I don't click on your links, unless I'm absolutely certain
they are not spam/malicious (which they usually are, from comments
from other posters).

Then why bother trying to correspond with me?

While you are at it, explain *WHY* you keep adding
alt.comp.os.windows-10 to an APPLE discussion ?

It's *MY* discussion and *I* use Windows 10.

No, this is a public forum, you don't *own* anything. The fact
that you can't abide by the *good-guy* rules and respect others is why
you have been *BANNED* from so many places.

I *DO* use Windows 10 - and I have NOT been banned from Usenet.

You most certainly formed some odd views when you were in prison. You
remind me so much of a fellow who once posted on Usenet as Aardvark. I
must email his local pub again to see if he's still alive. It's eight
years now since he came to visit me on my boat.

Still no nothing showing where Apple advised to install no software unless

LOL! The only reason you even HAVE this 'Special Page' is because you
