Default Problems with Apacer USB 2.0 Embedded Card Reader

After installing this cardreader my PC hangs during boot, before xp starts
to load.
I first suspected this to be a hardware or bios problem, but after
contacting the seller, they confirmed that they had received multiple
reports of the same problem under win xp and also claimed that it should not
be a problem under win 2k.
I then tried to install it on another PC with win 2k and had no problem.
Even though that was a different PC, the sellers claim lead me to belive
that the problem is not hardware but win xp itself.
Anybody with similar experience??

Hello

Well one would say if you remove from XP your pc will work
correctly and it it does it is a a hardware and software issue
with that card reader.

If I remove xp and install 2k, everything is working ok, both software and
hardware.
I seems XP is not compatible with hardware, and the problem should be
resolvable by softwareupgrade, either a new driver, bios upgrade or a xp
patch.
