Inactive Shortcut on Desktop

I have a shortcut to my "C" drive on my desktop which used to work fine,
however, now it does nothing when I click on it.
I tried making another shortcut, and it does the same thing. I can access
the "C" drive thru the "My Computer" icon.
Other desktop shortcuts work OK.
Any clues out there?
