you can reinstall IE in Windows XP by clicking Start,

Run
and entering the following command:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall
132 %windir%\Inf\ie.inf
You will need to have your XP CD available.
Then run Windows Update afterwards to reupdate the IE.

Backing up your Web Favourites
1. Open Internet Explorer;
2. Choose File/Import and Export from the menu
3. Click next
4. From the Import/Expert Wizard windows select
Export Favourites

You may wish to back up any other files before trying

the
reinstallation of IE.

Windows IE6 with sp1 problem.

I have experienced this over the past month: Opening
a "new" window and sometimes, the original window and

it
will NOT close! Really strange. The ONLY way I have

been
able to close this "un-closeable" window is to open
up "Task Manager" and close the darned thing.

Now, before you say it... I have tried all the obvious:

I Ran "Adaware", "Spybot - Search and Destroy" as well
as "Pest Control". Also have the latest updates from
McAfee and ran this as well. Nothing starnge in
all "runs" of the above mentioned software. So, I
figure... it must be an Internal thing?

ANY help I would be most Thankful for. I would hate to
have to uninstall it and re-load all the bookmarks

again!
If this is the only "fix", or if you have not heard of
this before, what would be the quickest way to "re-
install" IE. I tried to do this already, but it says I
have an later version than what I am trying to install.
So, I guess Unistalling would be the best bet if I have
to do this. How do I save the bookmarks in a readable

way
to import them in IE6? That is again... if I have to.

Thank you very much!!
