Default "NTLDR is missing" error message when you install Windows XP

I have just recently formated my hardrive so that i could do a fresh install
of windows XP home. while doing the install, a screen came up and said that
there was a missing file and said to hit enter to retry and some other key to
cancel. so i hit enter a bunch of times and it finally went through. this
missing file error happened 3 more times and then it bluescreened! i
restarted the computer and then it came up with this "NTLDR is missing" error
message and said to hit ctrl, alt, delete to restart. after restarting, the
computer won't even get to the boot sequence. what can i do to fix this
problem?

NTLDR Missing
Many times this error is caused when the computer is attempting to boot from a
non-bootable floppy disk or CD-ROM. First verify that no floppy diskette is in the
computer, unless you are attempting to boot from a diskette

Boot the XP CD, run the Recovery Console. From the command prompt, run:

Copy X:\I386\ntldr C:\
Restart the machine.

see:-
