Deleting items saved in search bar -Yahoo, Google
When I begin typing a subject into the search bar (not
the address bar)there is a list of all the words I have used in searching. I cannot find any easy way to delete these. I feel it is another way that someone else using my computer could have some idea of my search interests. I do know that Internet Options, clear history etc. will get rid of saved sites but it doesn't solve my stated request. |

You are welcome. For Google history, place your cursor in the Search box then press the down arrow key and then hit delete. Clearing Recent Documents/Clear List under Customize/Advanced clears the run history, however, I have listed the key for you. Clear Run History: Start/Run/Regedit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\ Explorer\RunMRU Typed URL's: Start/Run/Regedit: Open your registry and find the key below and delete any value you want to remove. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ TypedURLs Clear Recent File Lists - Includes the Run Menu and Search (Line 41) http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Clean out Usage Tracks in Windows http://www.12ghosts.com/ghosts/wash.htm -- All the Best, Kelly MS-MVP Win98/XP [AE-Windows® XP] Troubleshooting Windows XP http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Top 10 Frequently Asked Questions and Answers http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm "Jim" wrote in message ...
