You need one modem and a router or a modem/router combination. You need the
requisite cables to go between the devices and your computer, unless you are
using wireless. You need either LAN cards or wireless cards in each of your
computers if you are doing wireless.

Hi,

Router, switch, or hub, any of these would serve the purpose. Basically, the
connection goes to the device, which is connected in turn to both machines.
A hub is the simplest, basically allowing the machines to communicate
through its uplink. A router or switch are more intelligent devices, and
would be my preference.

No.

and

No.

You need to network the two computers. Install a network interface card
(NIC) in each computer. Buy a 4-port hub, switch, or router, then connect
each NIC to that device. Also connect the DSL modem to that device.

Since you will have a network, you can also share files and printers between
the two computer, but you don't have to and can share just the internet
connection.

You need an external modem or modem/router.
Only one account is needed.
