Default Video Captu Should I enable the use of video clips

I'm new at video capture and want to know if there is a benefit or downside
of selecting the box that says, "Save video clips after capture". Right now I
am capturing numerous basketball game videos that I will later consolidate to
a recruiting video. I'm not sure if the clips would get in the way of editing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
