Default tips on speeding up xp

anyone have some sites that explain things one could do to speed up xp?
i have limited knowlege of system stuff but fairly expert at
autocad/office./programming vb type of stuff

xp pro version 2002 sp2
intel pent 3, 601MHz, 384 mb ram

I probably should upgrade system but for now would like to get this running
as fast as possible.
mostly used by wife for email and browsing but runs super slow
(i know thatt's not an exact technical term, just my subjective opinion)


have scanned with malwarebytes anti-malware and avast home ediditon virus
scan, both clean reports
