Default I keep losing my sound card driver

Can someone explain why my sound card driver keeps disappearing on my XP Pro
system? Its a Creative Audiology something. I uninstall it. Reboot. And
reinstall it. Next time I boot up its gone. I've tried using the PNP
install and the CD install - doesn't seem to make a difference.

You don't say otherwise, so I assume your card is working properly
after you do an install - until the next reboot. So what does Device
Manager show as the driver for the device after you reboot?

Some thoughts (not that any of the following would necessarily explain
your problem):

- Are you sure you are installing the correct driver? Creative has a
comprehensive DOWNLOAD section on their site. Maybe you should try to
get the latest, if that's not what you already have.
- Is the card seated properly in the slot? Try removing and reinserting
it, just to be sure, and make sure there are no bent pins, etc.

Default I keep losing my sound card driver

Update: I finally decided to swap something, anything - sometimes that's the
only way to gain in ground. SImply based on price and my modest needs, I
bought a Norwood RAD 9250 graphics card from Comp USA. P.O.S! No fan? Put
it in the system and the sound card problem went away. NOW I Keep Losing the
video driver. Returned and bought the DIAMOND Stealth 9250, yes, it does
have a fan. SAME PROBLEM! OKAY, back to Invidia. I bought a PNY 62000. No
more problems.

I recommend that you stay away from (1) 9250 and (2) Norwood products - I
noticed that Comp USA really only sells "NORWOOD" cards. VERY SUSPICIOUS.
