laptop shuts down

Default laptop shuts down

i have windows xp and when i try to down load anything including windows
virus scan my laptop just shuts off no warning it just shuts down

If you hear the fan noise increasing then the notebook is probably
overheating. If it's under guarantee, contact the local service center as
indicated on the manufacturer's website.

Thanks for the response but i do not believe it is an overheating problem
because it will do it as soon as i turn on the computer within 1 or 2
minutes. I also have bought a cooling plate for it. After alot of trouble
shooting we think it is not an overheating problem maybe a virus? at this
point i just dont know..Does anyone have any other suggestions????

My Toshiba A75 is in the service center for the third time with overheating
problems... it too has a cooler.

Do you hear the fan(s) increase in speed? If so it's overheating.
