Cleaning temp files...

My Norton shows over 2000 temp files

in my XP. How do I know what's safe to delete? Thanks everyone - thank Gawd there's a group such as this! grn

In general, you can safely remove all temp files without hurting anything else. Temp files are only used at the time when you are working on whatever it is that you are working on. Everything that you do on your computer gets stored in a temp file. Basically, all that temp files do is take up precious space on your Hard Drive and slow it down. The easiest thing to do is run Disk Cleanup and make sure that it is set to delete temp files. I hope that this helps.
