Shut down after closing lid??
I have a Dell 1720 installed with Vista, and I down graded to Winxp..
Everything works great except the option to shutdown the laptop after closing the lid.. The only choices I have are "Do Nothing" or "Standby" . I Went to Dell's website and installed all the correct drivers.. Any advise will be appreciated Thanks Barry

(Got the business license with downgrade rights?) - Call Dell. Otherwise - not having direct access to an 1720 with Windows XP - I cannot tell you if this is a manufacturer 'lack of driver options' thing or not. You might ask on Dell's forums... http://en.community.dell.com/ You might just change what happens when the 'sleep button' is pressed to 'shutdown the computer'. Then again - it may not be possible - some laptops do not have that option (usually because of supplied options bytthe manufacturer - but, none the less...) The Inspiron series of laptops is not the 'top-end' - so perhaps this is one of those 'little things' that is there to encourage you to move to the next level by Dell?
