WTF? Setting up new Win10 - where is the standard calculator?
WTF?
https://image.ibb.co/cCJ9oU/Clipboard01.jpg C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe You'll need a new app to open this calculator Do I have to ADD a calculator to Windows 10? If I have to add a calculator to Windows 10, what free basic big-button (for tired old eyes) old-style calculator do you use when you don't want to have anything whatsoever to do with whatever it is that is the "Windows Store"? |

Do I have to ADD a calculator to Windows 10? No you need some intelligence to use Windows 10. Windows 10 users can find almost anything in their machine if they start using the Microsoft's Bing Search Engine that is situated on all Task bars. For example if you had some intelligence, you would have found this: https://i.imgur.com/2kInLun.png https://i.imgur.com/2kInLun.png You must be a very old man suffering from dementia. How long have you got to live? Has your doctor given you a hint? In future please refrain from cross-posting to useless newsgroups. You are only confirming your stupidity by doing so. Windows 10 questions on Windows 10 newsgroup. It doesn't require much intelligence to know this. Since it's just not there by default in a new installation. https://preview.ibb.co/m5A3hp/Clipboard02.jpg Since all of you installed it but you forgot how you did that you probably did what Microsoft says to do which is to install it from the Windows Store. But I don't really even know what the Windows Store is and I don't like the idea of a Windows Store either. It sounds too much like an Apple iTunes Store or a Google Play Store to me. Isn't there anyone who remembers how they installed the default calculator? (It isn't there by default - so you HAD to install something.) What's a good NOT from the Windows Store free calculator for Windows 10? (Just big buttons and basic stuff.) |

In Windows 10 the standard calculator (Calculator.exe) is an "app", and is in the folder C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsCalculator_* (where the * represents a string of numbers and letters). The program you are looking at (calc.exe) just launches the real calculator (the Calculator.exe app). The Windows 10 Calculator app is added automatically. You should not have needed to do anything to add it. It seems as if your Calculator app is missing or corrupt. If I have to add a calculator to Windows 10, what free basic big-button (for tired old eyes) old-style calculator do you use when you don't want to have anything whatsoever to do with whatever it is that is the "Windows Store"? Have you blocked Windows from installing any "apps" at all? That would explain why you don't have the Calculator app. (More and more Windows 10 accessories will become like this.) If the standard Calculator app was not installed automatically, you could install it for free from the Microsoft store. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/windows-calculator/9wzdncrfhvn5 -- Kind regards Ralph |

I think you all forgot tht you installed it manually at some point. Because the Windows 10 calculator does not seem to be in the default. This is what it says when you run a search for "calculator". https://image.ibb.co/eefpoU/Clipboard03.jpg It's important to notice that a search does not say this expection: https://i.imgur.com/2kInLun.png Most of you I think are using the Windows 10 Store Calculator. If you are not using the Windows 10 Store Calculator then what basic Windows Calculator do you recommend that is fast and has big buttons? I'm going to install this calculator for now but if you have better? Winaero Old calculator for Windows 10 https://winaero.com/blog/classic-cal...s-10-creators/ https://winaero.com/download.php?view.1795 Get the old Calculator app from Windows 8 or Windows 7 in Windows 10. It is the genuine classic Calculator app extracted from Windows 8.1, with full localization support. It will be always in your OS language. It supports both Windows 10 x86 and Windows 10 x64. https://winaero.com/request.php?1795 Technically this may not be freeware since it is repackage of Windows calc. |

Thank you for this information which first gaved me the error "You have been denied permission to access this folder" https://image.ibb.co/ita3hp/Clipboard04.jpg I click "Advanced" and it won't let me pick me in the "object picker" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/pre...789205(v=ws.11) What do I need to do as I am the only user so I should be "administrator" with privileges. https://image.ibb.co/j8YOhp/Clipboard05.jpg The Windows 10 Calculator app is added automatically. As stated the Calculator is at MS Icon, App list, C, Calculator Or click MS icon and type calculator The Windows 10 Calculator is multi function. Open the Calculator that you found above and click on the three bars at the top under the word Calculator. Select the calculator you like. I have mine set to Standard, but occasionally use one of the other calculators. -- 2018: The year we learn to play the great game of Euchre |

I searched but it is hard to search because common words are searched. I do not think it means two are installed though because even when it did not work before I installed the winaeoro calc it still said calculator^2 https://image.ibb.co/eefpoU/Clipboard03.jpg When I tried to install the Windows 10 calcultora it still said 2. https://image.ibb.co/fq4kCp/Clipboard07.jpg After I installed winaeor calcultor it still said 2. https://image.ibb.co/nMhmk9/Clipboard08.jpg Both before and after winaeor it still say "calculator^2". |
