Default hot keys

A hotkey is when you hit something to perform an
operation, such as copy and paste, or running a program.
An example is holding control and hitting v to paste.
That is a hotkey. Your problem is just with plain keys.
Unfortunately, such a problem is rarely windows at
fault. It is almost always a faulty keyboard. See if
you can find another or borrow one for testing purposes.
If you can, be sure to shut off the computer before
plugging in the new keyboard unless the keyboard is USB
(square plug, not round.) Open notepad and try every
letter to see if they work. If on the other keyboard
they all work, that means yours is definitely shot and
you have to get another one.
