Default O.T. Firefox:

I have a Dell XPS 8500, with Windows 7 Professional, SP1,
with Spywareblaster, Malwarebytes, Avast , Windows Defender
and Windows firewall.

(1) TB HD
Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-33-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
Ram 12.0 GB
System type : 64-bit operating system

I also have

I have a Dell Optiplex 780 Tower, with Windows 7 Professional,
SP1, with Spywareblaster, Malwarebytes, Avast , Windows Defender
and Windows firewall.

Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB
Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
System type : 64-bit operating system

and (external hard drives)

(8500)
WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200
RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal
Hard Drive

(780)
Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB
Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
Internal Hard Drive

I was doing my usual scans on the 8500
and while doing a smart scan with Avast
it said that Firefox was outdated. I
checked and it said I was up to date but
it showed changes on the 10th of this month.

So I downloaded Firefox and signed in with
my email address/password to put it in sync
but now it wants me to sync with other devices
like a cell phone which I do not have so I
closed it and now says I'm logged into my FF
account.

My question is should I have done any of this
and will I have to log into Firefox every time
I use it now?

In passing I ran the smart scan on the 780 and
it shows no outdated applications. So why the
8500 and not the 780? I don't understand it
which makes me think I shouldn't have done this.

Thoughts/suggestions

Robert

p.s. I don't like the fact that it now says
I'm logged into FF using my email account
and there is no logoff.

I think I know why its showing my email;
because I signed up for syncing without
really knowing what it was. After checking
I realize I didn't need it

So I tried to reverse this by downloading
FF again but the email still remains. I
restarted the computer and when it came
back it said that my copy of Win7 was not
genuine!!!@ What the hell?! I then powered
off/on but the message didn't reappear and
FF is unchanged.

I finally was able to go into manage accounts
and was able to delete the account. Boy, what
a mess!
