Win XP Firewire for Panasonic NV GS50
You should check your motherboard manual. You may find that some PCI slots
are unavailable for use because technically they're already being used by such hardware devices as onboard LAN, modem etc. Although it seems as though you do have (say) 6 PCI slots, it's often the case that unless you disable some onboard hardware, you really only have (say) 4 actually available for your usage. Cari www.coribright.com "useenomeyes" wrote in message om... This info may be helpful if your WinXP could not detect firewire card. I bought a snazio firewire card and installed in my computer, apparently the devise manager didn't recognize it and no indication of any IEEE 1394 on the drop down list. After many unsuccessful attempts to make my WinXP detect the newly installed firewire card I decided to relocate the firewire card to another PCI slot and after reboot it works perfectly. Now I have my Panasonic GS50 camcoder successfuly connected to my computer and the Ulead movie editing application able to capture the video from it without any single frame drops. You may give a try if you had the same problem USNMY |

Win XP Firewire for Panasonic NV GS50
Sorry, that does not bother me at all, mine is an HP and HP technician
would not be bothered on which slot to be used as long as the slots are empty. There is also no necessity to swap with any used PCI slot to make sure the newly installed firewire card to work. Just try to use the empty slots. When I checked the internet last time there are many cases similar to mine that WinXP couldn't detect the newly isntalled firewire card. They might installed the firewire card incorrectly in the first place, as I did, so to swap the card to another empty slot is advisable since it works for me. My $0.02.....
