Default CCleaner, why not delete Windows "Recent" folder contents?

To the CCleaner fanboys... I'm not complaining. It's free, I know. Think
of this as a suggestion.

Why not delete Windows "Recent" folder contents?

C:\Users\Master\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\ Recent

Maybe there is a setting that I'm missing?

Thanks.

Hi Doe,

I have never seen CC Cleaner do any real help,
but I have seen it do a lot of damage. Be
careful with it. I consider CC Cleaner to be
junkware.

That being said,

%AppData%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent

Keeps track of only a limited amount of recent activity.
I would leave it alone. It is a friendly feature.

Are you noticing it growing large?

If you are concerned that your hard drive is filling up
with garbage, install a Tree Size utility such as

http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/
http://www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/

And ask us about anything that sticks out.

I was concerned about that back in the Windows 3.1 days. But with
each Windows upgrade, Microsoft dumped exponentially more stuff on
my hard drive, so that any concern about excessive and unnecessary
files became useless. Space is definitely not the problem.

I have been in this group since, like, Paul was in diapers (just
kidding, Paul).
My system is basically bulletproof, since I keep "an image of the
partitions required to backup and restore Windows". I haven't
noticed CCleaner doing any harm, at least not harm that was
difficult to correct.

On my system, which only runs Windows in qemu-kvm
Virtual Machines, I make a full clone as "part of"
my weekly full backup routine. Occasionally, I
will boot off the clone to make sure it is working.
(I have an on the spot and daily backup routines too.)

You can never have enough backup!

This group would be a lot more useful to others
if Google would stop kissing M$ ass and archive
it so others could search it. M$'s own forum is so
useless that it is almost not worth the time to
post to it.

Naw, we just crapped all over the place.

That's why they kept me on a rope in the back yard.

And we loved it.
