Printer not working after 2004 upgrade.
My network printer...
TOSHIBA e-STUDIO2809ASeries PCL6 ..... no longer works after the 2004 upgrade. The other network & USB printers do. I've tried updating the driver ("best already installed") and deleting the printer & reinstalling it. The Toshiba site has never heard of this 2015 model. Can I emulate it somehow? Help |

Help control.exe to get to control panels, if you don't already have the Control Panels icon installed in your task bar. Programs and Features Review installed software, find Tosh item(s), select Repair as an item for the most likely Tosh item. Have it repair the installation that was there before. That should do drivers and software stacks, in one go. That's the method I use to repair my Ramdisk software after an "Upgrade Install" :-) I've probably used that option about 50 times by now, because I keep having to repair that on the Insider Edition. The "Upgrade Install" migration logic, is supposed to be doing that reinstall itself for you. Failures are supposed to be limited to the odd case, rather than requiring every item in Programs and Features to be fixed up. In my case, a license file gets zorched, and the installer knows how to put the license file back where it belongs. Your printer didn't get there entirely without help. You would likely be most unhappy with a "pure Windows" generic support solution. It's more likely you installed some separate Tosh stuff (CD/DVD), providing glossy dialog boxes and fancy (photo quality adjustment) features. Doing it with the Repair as above, is to save you searching through the box, looking for the DVD again. Good installers are archived as .msi files, which is some part of how Repair fixes stuff, using the folder that has the backup copy of same. Paul |

Help Yes you can emulate most printers these days because of universality.ย* For example I useย* Xeroxยฎ Global Print Driverยฎ for HP printers and surprisingly they work better than HPs own drivers. I suggest download the file from he https://www.office.xerox.com/en-us/software-solutions/global-printer-driver This is a direct download link for 64 bit Windows 10 machine: http://download.support.xerox.com/pub/drivers/GLOBALPRINTDRIVER/drivers/win10x64/ar/UNIV_5.703.12.0_PCL6_x64.zip Extract the zip file and Install the files using the exe file. It will ask you which printer you want to update and just follow the steps as required.ย* I'm sure you know how to install the drivers. If not read this pdf file: http://download.support.xerox.com/pub/docs/GLOBALPRINTDRIVER/drivers/win7/pt_BR/SFTWP-02UC-09.pdf Also there are further instructions on XEROX website. -- With over 1.2 billion devices now running Windows 10, customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows. |

I saw today that of the approximately dozen things that Microsoft is aware of that broke in the v2004 release, printing is one of them. Since you have printing working, that might not be your problem though, so I won't dig up the cites, but just plant it as something for others to consider if their printing breaks. |

Thsnkd, it's been fixed. I ranh Toshiba head office and they confirmed he 2004 bug, and then gave me the "Universal Driver 2" which fixed it. Thanks to all. |
