Default Can't Connect to web or email servers

Xref: kermit microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web:196470

When I booted my machine this morning, McAffee Virus scan
indicated that my TCPIP settings had changed. Why, I
have no idea.

But although the modem dials Earthlink and the software
indicates I'm connected, I cannot connect either to the
Internet or the email server. Could this have anything
to do with Winsock?

Please advise.

Thanks so much,
Jim
