I'll wait for a while before installing, thank you, and let you fine
people iron out the kinks for me.

That's probably a very good plan for now. See my post in Message-Id:

Based on past newer versions of IE, I'll go with your assessment. Wait
awhile. Wait for the bugs to emerge, let em get fixed, then download the
patched version. 6 months is a the ballpark figure for me.

I updated yesterday, seems to be just fine so far. Seems to
have several nice features. Can set multiple homepages, so
when I open IE7 I get My ISP homepage, the local National
Weather Service weather and the TV Guide listing. Nice.
The menu bars have changed to an extent, it takes a little
while to get used to where to look for a command.

Did find that IE 7 has blocked the opening of HP Director,
the control panel for the 5500c scanner. I can work around
this by accessing the scanner directly from My Computer.
It appears that IE 7 is blocking popup and Active X in the
three Director htm pages.

I just got off the phone with HP about this SAME matter and they told
me IE 7.0 is still a BETA version and that MS should fix the problem
when the final version is out. I Told the HP support person (Oscar)
that this WAS the FINAL VERSION of IE 7.0 and that MS intends to push
it out via auto-updates within two weeks to which he responded that MS
should fix the problem with a patch and that they were NOT WORKING on
any fixes for the problem at HP.

I then asked him when the systems here were updated if they just
expected me to quit using my printers to which he responded.....Uhhhhhh
YES!

GIVE ME A FRICKING BREAK!.......... Here is where you can write to
experience the HP support:

http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/execteam/email/hurd/index.html

And here is the tech support persons contact information if you want to
call him:

1-877-917-4380 EXT 19

Ask for Oscar

I hope someone reading this get's more help from them than I did.
Good Luck!!

Clint

Google says

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...=9999~start=40

Ok, here's what to do. Double click on the HP Director icon. You won't
see anything happening on screen. After a few seconds, press and hold
down the alt button then press the spacebar. A pop up window appears.
Click on minimize (may have to select it twice.) You will then see an HP
director button appear on the toolbar. Click on the button or right
click on it and choose Restore. You will then get the main HP Director
window.
